Olympic Anniversary.

Today is the 25th anniversary of the 1988 winter Olympics in Calgary, AB!

This brings up so many emotions for me…..

I remember that time like it was yesterday. The excitement that filled the entire area. I recall watching it on T.V. – I remember being mesmerized by the speed skating and dreaming I was one of those athletes – skating circles around our small town arena – bent over, swinging my arm – I’m sure looking like a complete and utter dork!!!

I remember how my Dad collected Olympic glasses from Petro Canada, bringing them home for my mom – she has a curio cabinet chalked full to this day……

I also remember this day…….

The day my parents chased the Olympic flame around central Alberta so my baby sis and I could get a light….. It was such a great day and they would not give up. As you can see they succeeded and we were over the moon!!

It also makes me think of all the other great days I spent growing up; it makes me think of a post I wrote quite a while ago. I’m not entirely sure why, but of all the posts I’ve ever written it’s the one I’m most proud of. If you have time check it out – it really captures how I’m feeling today. Don’t Blink
